Here's one with the new drivers....little bit better.

Re: Post your 3DMark Time Spy 1.0 score here!

Thanks guys for the quick scores, they are all good. Skully I was surprised I was so close to your system. Maybe because I run at 1440P lower than yours but the scores should scale with the monitor resolution no?

7534 > Better than 87% of all results (Sandog)

8001 > Better than 90% of all results (Skully)

Something happened to my system because last week I ran 3DMark Firestrike if you remember and I was just below having a 4K capable system. Now Time Spy has me way ahead of having a 4K capable system. It might be the new driver. I am also running in OC mode vs. Gaming mode but that was only going from a base clock of 1809MHz to 1835MHz. The same speed as Zap's Gigabyte G1 Gaming card. I'll take it.

CPU at 4.3GHz on all cores w/HT enabled.
Memory at 2400MHz CL12 1T 1.2V
Video Card at 1835MHz core / 1251MHz memory

If you think about it, games have to run on a PC in probably around the 25-30 percentile range just like Windows. Having a system that is rated faster than 87% of the systems out there is pretty darn good. Futuremark has so many of these benchmark submissions (10's of thousands) that it is a very accurate rating. I believe the poll rating after a 1000 polls will only change +/-1% no matter how many you take after that.

Anywho, I have a nice system and my low-end component is now the monitor.

Yeah, I am all for newer drivers now just like I use to be. The thing is, unless you play a modern game which you should with these top end cards, then the driver updates are not as important. But, I think they fix things plus I cannot get Windows to keep a driver for longer than two months without auto-updating. And trying to keep my near 1yr old original driver is impossible or too much darn trouble to keep. When Windows auto updates it installs other features that I don't want.

Here you go, you can open up the Graphics Card/CPU/General to view more details.

Re: Post your 3DMark Time Spy 1.0 score here!

Well if you look at the Results above of all 3 of our scores (FVB/Sandog/Skully) you will see I am on the previous NV driver 382.05 and not 382.33. I upgraded to the latest and ran it again and I got a similar score but it was slightly lower. I went from 7534 to 7520, probably within the margin of error.

I like 3DMark, always have. I have been using 3DMark at least since version 2001 because I have the key for it as well as 2003/5/6/Vantage/11 and now 3DMark. I have benchmark history dating back to a Pentium 4 2.6GHz, D875PBZLK, ATI 9800 Pro, and WinXP.

I think it is good to run this every time you upgrade your video card drivers. All other things being the same (don't change CPU or memory speed) you can see if the new driver is beneficial. It would be nice to see your score continue to rise with every new driver. New drivers would benefit the latest card the most so they would probably benefit the 1080Ti, then 1080, then 980 Ti in that order.

BTW, here is a screeny of my run on the new drivers. You can see my max clocks and temps on the left (1962Mhz/64C). My GPU clock is almost up to 2000MHz like my GTX 1070 was. I am really happy I upgraded to this new STRIX 1080. The fans, LED's, noise, high clocks, and temps are all working just as great as the STRIX 1070 I had. That automated build process ASUS has is producing better and more reliable cards. Thanks ASUS.

I think the default res is your res...I checked it in the settings before I ran the test?

Re: Post your 3DMark Time Spy 1.0 score here!

Yeah I think I made a mistake. If Skully runs Ultra and I run Ultra it is the same benchmark. If that weren't the case then someone running a 15" monitor would beat Skully's 1080Ti.

Yeah when you just run the benchmark without switching the resolution it runs at 2560x1440.

I just hit run it runs. How come it doesn't state the rez in the results? I think they are running it differently now. Ultra is for 4K test, Extreme is multi-card and then there is Firestrike regular I guess. You can probably go into test details an change test settings to customize it but also it may not verify it if you change too many settings. I know it won't upload to the database unless you include the demo. If you just hit run I think everyone has the same test. In other words, it passes the same pixels per second no matter what resolution you are running. Like I said, otherwise all the scores would be pointless. I would beat Skully with my less powerful card because I have a 50% smaller monitor screen than him.

Re: Post your 3DMark Time Spy 1.0 score here!

It's not the size of the screen it's the res, you can have 27 inch screen and a 30 screen with the same res and the scores will be the same.

Yeah that is what I am saying, that the test is the same for me and Skully where I said it was different before. I didn't know what rez it was though, it doesn't say but it was filling up my whole screen (1440P).

Right, his screen is the same has mine, but it will scale to what ever res you set.

Re: Post your 3DMark Time Spy 1.0 score here!

I would not scale it to your monitor if you want to compare apples to apples with other people. Everyone should run it at the same settings which means just hit run and don't change anything. That's all I do anymore. I am going to just hit run on Time Spy and see if my score improves with BIOS and driver changes although I am pretty sure I am done with BIOS changes. I have my CPU set as high as I want it including memory.
