Hmmm, I am not sure how you mean to run the benchmark and see CPU-Z. You explain that and I will try it.

I did notice in my Firestrike benchmark it keeps saying my memory modules all running at 1067MHz when they are at 2400/1200 in BIOS and CPU-Z.

Here is a new run w/CPU at 4.6GHz. I am back at +5300.

Congrats at getting back to 5300+

Bring up CPU-z, and position it on the right side of the screen.

Select the Icon which brings up Heaven or Valley.
On its main panel, uncheck the box for run full screen.
Select Run as you normally would.
Drag the window for Valley over to the left side of the screen.
You can hit "benchmark" if you like.
Observe the core speed in CPU-Z.

Very interesting. In BIOS I have my cores set up to run 43X-43X-43X-41X-41X-41X.

During idle in CPUID-HWM the max cores (4.3GHz) distribute among all 6 cores. It is not the same 3 cores (Cores 0-2) that I selected in BIOS. Also, during the benchmark when the CPU is stressed it would not run at the max 4.3GHZ but backed off 1X to 4.2GHz. Also in HWM you can see Valley does not utilize threads much at all.

Re: Unigine Valley

Check it out guys, a new high. Reached over 5500pts! Still OCing my CPU, memory, and card the same.

CPU=4.4GHz
Memory=2400 CL12
Graphics=1250MHz core / 1950MHz memory
NV driver=353.62

ASUS STRIX GTX 980 TI Unigine Heaven 4.0.jpg

I have max FireStrike and Heaven benchmarks with very modest temps. Like I said, all the hardware and software is tweaked and running to perfection. I also have new TIM so there is nothing to see here anymore. I have to get a new monitor.

Yes, to the latest on ASUS website (353.62).

I had my fan profile set to come on at 52C. Now that my idle temps are hovering as low as 42C I am lowering my fan start to 50C.

Capture.JPG

I love how easy it is to set the fan profile in Afterburner.

Re: Unigine Valley

Those are what you get from windows when you to a fresh install, not the latest from nvidia?

Interesting. Those are the latest on the STRIX GTX 980 Ti webpage. I know they are stable.

Re: Unigine Valley

Well I've ran Heaven and Firestrike a few times today on 3 different sets of drivers. The previous drivers that were out, the brand new 359.00 drivers that just came out, and the old 353.62 that ASUS has on the website.

I got the same results. My best score was with the 353.62 drivers in Heaven and Firestrike and if I had Gaming Experience installed that dropped my score another 200pts in 3DMark. 200pts is pretty inconsequential out of 17,000 and it helps games but right now I do not have any games installed worth flip.

Re: Unigine Valley

I still get a high score with Heaven and these drivers but not so much in 3DMark.

Re: Unigine Valley

Funny thing, I tried running the Gaming Experience out of the ASUS driver 353.62 and it installed properly but would not run saying it was not installed on a local machine???

Anyway, I was going to update Gaming Experience only with the 353.62 drivers but I kind of doubt it would happen. I think the latest drivers need the latest Gaming Experience and vice-versa. I lost a few percent in performance running Gaming Experience but it is still worth it to have the game you are playing supported and looking the best it can. I opted to install the latest NV drivers and Gaming Experience.
