Re: Which Language ?

c# for microsoft platforms, c++ for anything else. The fluidity of c# is stunning. Easy to learn, easy to use, and Visual studio is divine. I've been programming in c++ for 4 and a half years now, and c# for 3 and a half, and I love them. I dislike the new languages "enhanced" with syntactic sugars, like python.

Re: Which Language ?

Yeah definitely JAVA is the most powerful and more secure language rather than others.

Re: Which Language ?

Lol, interesting old thread. Maybe the answer is that the language is irrelevant and the environment is key. ERP comes to mind.
But i still cant help thinking that a language that abstracts away from the machine and aligns with business language would be ideal, which was the intention of COBOL back in the day. The idea being to focus the developer on the business need.
But of course business solutions are typically far bigger than any single program so maybe the whole idea of an ideal business syntax is flawed. Maybe its appropriate that developers only focus on managing and manipulating arrays of data and variables with a library of standard and custom algorithms while others are focussed at a higher level on the actual end to end solution and how it aligns to the business problems.
