Google Earth placemarks

How do you insert a Google Earth placemark (.kmz file) into a web site? Using Dreamweaver I can make a link using a .kmz that works when tested, but when put on the web and clicked, Google Earth doesn't open, and the link just returns the text string when using Firefox. No help from Firefox.

When using IE, the links look OK, but IE thinks the .kmz files are .zip files and opens a box with one. If you click it you eventually get to Google Earth and the correct placemark. Too many clicks. No help from MS.

Re: Google Earth placemarks

You should first target your place on Google maps and then copy the Google generated API and use it in your website, where you want to use it. Your place will show in your website.. etc.
