Megaton is massive...so many things to do...hard to navigate around town as every place looks similar (especially at night)...at least with Oblivion, even though the cities were fairly large, it was easy to walk around town as every place seemed to have a distinct look...I also prefer the way the quests were arranged in Oblivions journal menu...with Fallout 3 things are not laid out as cleanly as it requires me to remember certain details about conversations on my own

early on I'm trying to upgrade my Speech skills as it opens up more dialogue options...also went with the 'Lady Killer' perk as that also opens up more conversation (when talking to female NPC's)

Yeah, for the conversation! And you love them for their minds!

lol...in Fallout 3 you can only use them for their minds as the developers have stated that there would be no hardcore sexual content in the game (only some implied sexual situations)...would have been nice to use the 'Lady Killer' perk for other rewards

I've already put my 'Lady Killer' charm to good effect...getting a prostitute to give up some hidden information about my father

3rd person view in this game pretty much sucks...not that I'm complaining as I hate 3rd person views but just thought I'd let people know...some aspects definitely remind me of Oblivion---the background music, character models

being able to listen to radio stations on your Pip-Boy is a nice touch...

interesting town this 'Megaton'...I need to find a way to get some 'caps' (money) as I'm not able to do some things I wanted to without them...I also met up with this mercenary (Jericho) who would have joined my group but my Kharma was too high so he refused...I gotta start being more evil, sounds more fun that way...I think I'm playing it too neutral/good now...I didn't want to go all evil too soon as I thought it would affect my ability to get certain quests but I think it's actually the opposite

one of my optional quests I accepted has not shown up in my Pip-Boy---the one about fixing the 3 water leaks around Megaton...maybe it has to do with the fact that my Repair skill is not yet high enough to complete the repairs but I hope it's not a bug

Does anyone know the difference between the Fallout 3 Collectors Edition Guide Book and the regular edition guide book (other than one is hard cover and the other is softcover)?

I take back what I said about the game not being anything like Oblivion...Fallout 3 definitely has a very Oblivion-esque feel to it...that being said the game is still very enjoyable and with enough distinctive features to separate itself from Oblivion...the hacking mini game is unique and fun once you get the hang of it...but the lockpicking game is annoying as it relies soley on luck

I love the fact that enemies don't level up with you...I've run into a few Super Mutants and other much stronger enemies which I had to run from as they were too difficult to beat at my current skill level...makes the game feel more realistic and challenging

also same as with Far Cry 2, the graphics seem to be much better during the daylight hours...it gets very dark and hard to see at night, especially with no flashlight

finally figured out how to take screenshots using the built in key mapping...much better as it no longer cuts off the bottom of my screenshots...first screenie is pretty cool (the V.A.T.S. combat system is really nice)...the last screenie is of the computer hacking mini-game, where you have to either guess the full password or figure it out 'Wheel of Fortune' style (I've gotten the hang of that and can pretty much hack most systems in a few tries)

how, whats the key? are those pics of DC? Place looks kinda messed up!...

I'm in Megaton... whilst the place is a dump, what motivation would I have to blow it up?... I dont get that quest... maybe later after I have some history with the place, but straight up like that was weird...

I'm finding the response trees in conversations have a wide range to choose from. Some of those responses seem inapropriate or downright non-logical but I guess horses for courses... Its seems I'm a good guy judging by my responses

the maps feel huge... definitly has that Oblivion feel about the controls and overall graphics... but this is much darker in terms of the story of the game... met the Sheriff and now I'm in the saloon... hate that... reminds me of so many US western movies... dont want to think of Megatron as some kinda western shanty town... but it IS set in the US so I gotta just accept it I guess... it also has that Mad Max feel about it...

good to see people getting their act together after the disaster...

I like VATS ... reminds me a bit of Max Payne and the bullet time effects... especially like how its optional...

the 1st person view is good, i was worried that it would be predominately a 3rd person game, but its not.

... I dont think the game has the same level of atmosphere as STALKER has... but I can see now that it should be enjoyable with a variety of quests to complete... looks like a keeper

'PrtScn' key for screenshots, saved to your Fallout 3 folder...I'm still very early in the game as well...still wandering the Wastelands myself exploring...

I'm still completing some of the side quests from Megaton...you can choose to nuke the city or disarm the bomb...there is no right or wrong answer...do what you feel is right...talk to ALL the people in the town and get their backstories and side quests, it might influence your decision ...the choices you make will unfold in the way characters treat you and dialogue options you get

I didn't even go to Megaton right away but because my skill level is not too high yet I was encountering some really powerful creatures that were either kicking my butt or making me use all my health and ammo to defeat

there are tons of dialgue options...and they branch out into tons of other branches depending on what you say...I tried quicksaving and trying different dialogue options but they started to branch out into completely different directions so I decided to just keep to one path for now

feels more 'alive' to me then Oblivion as well...I'm starting to sense the scope of the game and it's huge!...choice/consequence seems to really be done well in this game, making me actually think about how my actions will affect other people and situations

the game is meant to be played in 1st person...3rd person view sucks and looks strange...knowing what I know now I would have allocated my skill points differently but oh well, there's always next run through

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. has the slight edge for now but that could change...I am totally immersed in this game...and now that I'm comfortable with the layout and controls things are even better
