Re: I think I am sticking w/ Vista .... ie8!

Not only have I read extensively, but, I put a good # of hours on Win7.

It is a fast and easy install. It has better cosmetic features.

But, I know how to turn off UAC, I made the hacked changes to the aero theme. And, I am not using BitLocker. So for someone who knows a little bit about Windows and does a custom set-up with Vista, this new OS is not a breath taking "upgrade" I would think most people on this board do advanced installations now. The hardware only works well when your software is right.

MS can have a great SPIN on it. Shoot, all these people that still have XP think this is the big solution. The cosmetic changes should have come free in the Vista Ultimate Extras. And the rest should have come in a Vista Service Pack that did not need the prior service packs to load.

I went all through the OS and there is not much difference. Every Vista 64-bit driver I tested ran fine on Windows 7.

I was looking for better multi-monitor features, maybe multiple side-bar options, task-bars etc. The gadgets are even the same. You go into device manager, and most of the system drivers are the old 2006 that we have been using.

Last, the 3.5GB limitation on Vista 32-bit should have resulted in a class action suite.

In a few years the real Windows update will come out as it was previously scheduled. All this is, is a Vista Service Pack A#7 and Windows Plus!

Re: I think I am sticking w/ Vista .... ie8!

I remember 3.1 to 95. Or XP to Vista. I would not have a party when I went from 3.0 to 3.1 or 95 to 98 and ME.
