Thumbs up Back folding

I just started running 2 GPU clients 24x7 - except when it gets a too warm up stairs. The new GPU client runs hot and more prone to errors at higher clock rates, so I have to run stock (well, factory overclocked only) for now. I should be able to output 7k ~PPD soon.

It'll have to wait till the average temps to drop a bit more to start folding on my Q6600.

Fold on !

Re: Back folding

I started up the GPU client again tonight, maybe will get the SMP client going again after I upgrade to the Final Win7 OS.

Re: Back folding

Can you do both at the same time? I've been wondering about that.

Re: Back folding

Yes, though I set my GPU client to realtime priority.

Re: Back folding

OK, two issues:

1. Wife keep putting the computer in standby like I taught her to do - d'oh!
2. There are some nasty bigger proteins with much lower PPD rates - I guess I wind up with a PPD of somewhere between 5K and 6K, depending on how many of those I get.

Getting SMP up and rolling in a few weeks will take the sting out of #2 by kicking my PPD up another ~2k. Wish I had the $$s to put a QX9650 in that box.

Re: Back folding

Nerf. Unstable machine, because my wife was playing a flash game

And both cores failed. Why is that, when one core isn't even running any graphics???

Oh well, the points are worth the problems

Re: Back folding

Hmm, having a nice conversation with myself.

I was getting allot of 'unstable machine' errors - only to find out that when I used remote desktop to connect from my laptop to my workstation I was killing the GPU clients (RDP == no, no!).

Re: Back folding

Argh - more 'Unstable machine errors'. This time, only on GPU2. If I'm lucky it finishes a one WU and then blows up. Seems to happen when I get some 400+ point WU, though that doesn't stop GPU1.
