Re: Windows 7 driver support hows it been for you?

No problems here, so far. I have the RTM on the P4P800D in my sig and RC1 on the netbook. Win7 had native drivers for everything except ACPI on the netbook and WDM on the All-in-Wonder. Not bad at all.

Everything I need supported.

Printer driver is better than the OEM's version!

No problems here.

Re: Windows 7 driver support hows it been for you?

The switch from Vista to 7 on the rig in my sig was painless for me. My HP C6380 printer had problems in Vista but all is well in 7.

All is well with my machine. I had to install drivers for my HP Laserjet 1006.

Re: Windows 7 driver support hows it been for you?

I had to install my X-fi Prelude drivers before my HD 4870 drivers. That is the only issue I had.

Re: Windows 7 driver support hows it been for you?

The Only gripe that I have is that Windows 7 asks me what audio device I have plugged in everytime I start the computer or it comes out of sleep. I have since disabled the option to check. But then again It may not be an MS issue. Other than that its been good.

Re: Windows 7 driver support hows it been for you?

I found out that the Logitech Quickcam Pro 4000 (webcam) doesn't work in Win 7 - 64 bit. All drivers, for Vista & Win 7, downloaded from Logitech website won't work.

However, if Win 7 - 32 bit is installed, that webcam is recognized automatically; but with a time lag about 20 - 30 minutes after finishing installation. There is no need to install any driver.

Re: Windows 7 driver support hows it been for you?

Not really bad, but there wasn't a so-so option. This is a store bought system for my wife (never thought I'd be doing that, unless she wanted a Mac), so most stuff was all set right out of the box. Couldn't install a GF7XXX PEG card, gave up on that for now (using onboard G45 graphx). HP doesn't have Driver yet for our K5400N printer - had to find a real long USB cable to hook it up directly (which the default Win7 driver do support). I think in 6-9 months most companies will have their own driver out and life will be better.

I haven't tried our multifunction printer out yet (need some new ink), that should be fun too.

Re: Windows 7 driver support hows it been for you?

Thanks, XJ, for information on video card and printer. At first, when I tried to test Win 7 on my PC, somehow it said my video card, ATI HD 4350, can't run with it. Using Win 7 Advisor (pre-test for requirements), the result was the same.

I went on test-installation 32-bit, and failed several times; until I fed up. Yet, somehow the 64-bit installed smoothly. Later, 32-bit installation has no problem either. It is a mystery to me.

As regards printer, I share the Panasonic KX-MB771, in wireless network. It works fine with the drivers download from internet.

As you said, several months ahead, more drivers may be available.
Best Regards,

Re: Windows 7 driver support hows it been for you?

32 bit when pretty ok. Had to manually download some drivers. All in all OK.

64 bit not so OK. my wireless USB adapter has no support for 64 win7. SO I had to get another adapter luckily I had one but had to download a new driver on another system to get it to work.

I had to download a 64 bit driver for a wireless color laser printer and there is no support as of yet for my high volume knica 2300dl printer. It's supposed to be here in 6/2010.

Quickcam Pro 4000 works - Re: Windows 7 driver support hows it been for you?

Update information: Finally, Logitech Quickcam Pro 4000 works in Win 7 - 64 bit. I re-installed Win 7 into a SATA hard disk, because Win 7 - 64 bit seems very slow on a PATA disk.

As before, Logitech Quickcam Pro 4000 appears not being recognized. So I tested the original driver CD came with it, years ago and just found again when I clean the mess around. Somehow, it works. All other drivers for Vista downloaded don't work.

Yet, Mozzila Firefox 3.5.5 doesn't install in Win 7 - 64 bit. Does anyone experience this?

I'm using the current version of Firefox. I've upgraded as each new version was released and I haven't had any problems with it at all.
