Re: Windows 8;

Vista? Cool I would like to try it myself sometime, but I chose to pass on it. I know someone that has it still and likes it a lot. I looked at the live cd version of this.. http://distrowatch.com/table.php?distribution=kubuntu It found my hardware and worked very well for me.

Re: Windows 8;

Windows 8 is suppose to have some good features. I will probably wait until SP1 to buy.

Agreed. IMHO someone in the company is a planted sabotuer. Usually I don't play the conspiracy card, but some of the desicions made as of late are weird.

Totally agreed. I always save that old copy of software just in case.

C'mon. Wouldn't we all love a 1920 x 1080 monitor with six big tiles across it.

Thanks rad, one of the mods needs to add Windows 8 to the list of
operating systems, the beta is here and soon the full W-8.
I'm posting now with W-8 a couple of things I like so far, and a lot
of the stuff is ugly. Puke green is a big turn off. Anywho I'll play
around and see how goes...

Re: Windows 8;

I'll not post a link go to tweaktown see all the latest news and reviews no offence, but best site on the web. If you can read between the lines? Microsoft has extended support for Vista/win-7 to ten years. Win-8 will bomb.

You know that does not mean updates will end don't you? Lot of people think that. As far as customer support, frankly I do not give a damn. I have never used it in 12 years.

Re: Windows 8;

Extended support means they only push out neccessary security patches.. nothing else So in other words yes if they didn't do this vista consumer versions wouln't get patched anymore

Re: Windows 8;

April of 2017 for Vista "support". Patches still continue on. For Win-7 "support" ends 2020, and patches still continue on. Right, I think you got it.
