On Thursday, Microsoft announced that next week's monthly security update will feature a record-tying 17 bulletins that patch a record 64 vulnerabilities, 15 more than the previous largest-ever set in October 2010....

Re: Microsoft Readies Patch Tuesday Deluge

I've now done one W7 x64 machine and two XP machines, with no apparent problems. Around 21 or 22 updates in each case.

Best regards,

Re: Microsoft Readies Patch Tuesday Deluge

Did 3 machines 2- 32 bit and 1 64 bit between 18 and 19 updates and no problems, I did a update on my video drivers for my GTX470 that was opiontal, and for some reason the control panel wouldn't work with the new drivers, so I rolled back to my old ones?

Well, they made a major blunder with at least one of the updates, pertaining to PowerPoint 2003:

MS11-022: Description of the security update for PowerPoint 2003: April 12, 2011

Best regards,

Re: Microsoft Readies Patch Tuesday Deluge

Didn't want to start a new thread but this is about Windows 7. I am irritated that I have file folders that I cannot access no matter what. Take a look and you'll get frustrated like me. Just enable hidden and system files and go look under C:\documents and settings, you will see a lock on the file.

Re: Microsoft Readies Patch Tuesday Deluge

Although I usually wait a couple of days before doing any significant Microsoft updates, to see if there are reports of problems, I went ahead and did all of these last night, on my W7 machine and my XP machines. I have seen no problems so far.

Regards,
-- Al

I usually wait a week after any new updates are released before installing...so I havn't installed the June updates as of yet...MS has been known to screw things up every once in awhile so I don't take any chances

there's also an important Flash Player update available from the Adobe website (for those that use the Flash Player plug-in)...10.3.181.26 is the new patched version (uninstall the old player first using Adobe's flash player uninstaller)

Re: Microsoft Readies Patch Tuesday Deluge

Loaded them on 3 machines and no problems, I did notice a lot of cpu activity after the reboot on all 3, it would never zero out even after 5 minutes, so I rebooted on my own and everything went to zero after the boot!
