Enhanced Protection Mode Message

Hey guys, i need some help.

I recently installed Microsoft security essentials on my Gf's pc and i get a weird pop up when i try to open it that says "enhanced protection mode"
and it wont let me do anything else with it, on my pc with MSE i can open it up and scan my pc and all other stuff but with hers im stuck at that message. Can someone plz tell me if something is wrong or is it normal somehow.

Fake MS security Essentials alert virus, this could be a virus. Maybe google it.
And see what ya come up with.....plus run a virus/trojan check.

Re: Enhanced Protection Mode Message

If you boot off the infected HDD, the virus will be resident and rewrite itself to the MBR anytime someone else writes the MBR. In other words yes a virus can survive a format. Here's a utility you can try. Also
HD manufacture web site should have a low level format utility that should work. http://www.snapfiles.com/get/dban.html
