Re: Ms Tool to put Win 7 ISO on USB Flash Drive
A clarification, for those that may not realize that this MS tool is not only for ISOs downloaded from MS. It can be used on an ISO created from your MS Retail/Upgrade/OEM disc. You can use this free app to create the ISO:
The Official ImgBurn Website And then use the MS tool to create the bootable flash drive. It works great!

Re: Ms Tool to put Win 7 ISO on USB Flash Drive
Good work I used to do this via the command line way and don't forget everyone this is not just for net-books can be used even on a desktop for a faster install time. Lastly it will save your DVD needing to be used for future re installs.

Re: Ms Tool to put Win 7 ISO on USB Flash Drive
I got it off of another site.
I've used it once, it is a lot nicer then the cd. Saves the wear and tear on the W-7 disk.......

Flash drive and (I think) ssd/hdd installs should be way faster than a cd install. I can personally say that a flash drive install is super-fast on my current system.

Re: Ms Tool to put Win 7 ISO on USB Flash Drive
Yup..Spooky fast compared to a ROM install. I have an image of Win 7 Ultimate. Even burning it as slow as I could I kept getting an error that stated I was missing cd-rom driver files. So I put the image on a 8g USB drive via the command line route. Worked like a charm. Easily the fastest OS install I ever did. I hadn't heard of the M$ tool at the time.

Here is an updated link to the microsoft tool. This should be fast from a USB 3.0 thumb drive to a SSD.

Re: Ms Tool to put Win 7 ISO on USB Flash Drive
Here is a better link that has all the languages included and all versions. These have the Windows 7 .iso files with SP1 included.
