Younger (<40) and computer geeks will not likely be deterred by a new UI. Though 99% of people won't move to Win8 until they need a new computer (unless it is a smash hit for reasons I can't imagine).

For microsoft they only want to sell you a product and you will buy it no matter how totally unneccesary you need it.
Totally - they aren't called Micro$oft for nothing

Re: Welcolm to Windows 8;

I recall the desktop a friend of mine had. There were about 40 icons a shortcut for every program on his system. That was how he liked it. I have Win-7 on four pc's and you do not see one icon. That is how I like it. My most often used program shortcut is on the quick start taskbar. There you will see about six or seven icons. I guess that's my main problem with Win-8. I don't like a cluttered desktop. This UI would be great on a touch screen tablet or smart phone. http://www.engadget.com/2011/10/13/m...anges-to-wind/

Re: Welcolm to Windows 8;

Microsoft company has long taken over the pc and laptop markets with its Microsoft windows based pc, but things have began to change; Apple has began to gain business with its Mac pcs, while pills, led by the iPad, have began to eat into the conventional PCís popularity. Itís clear, then, that Microsoft company has to modify to keep up and thatís where Microsoft windows 8 comes in: it's an OS designed for conventional pc computers and tabs as well.
