Windows 7 VS XP...F1 2010 Codemasters

Hi,

Just installed F1 2010 Codemasters, same install with graphic settings at Ultra.
See my system..sign.

At the start of a Race:

Windows 7 >> 36 FPS

XP >> 74 FPS ....and the winner is

XP still seems the better gamesystem, ofcourse not in every game

Strange because Windows 7 sees 4 sticks of memory and XP less...correct me if I am wrong !?

If you get bad FPS its still worth to install the good old XP version !!

Nice sunday

Hansje

Re: Windows 7 VS XP...F1 2010 Codemasters

Is Windows 7 more demanding...more things running in the back and so on ?

Wonder if more guys around are using XP for gaming...can't be the only one

Keep this dual-boot, its worth to keep XP for a while.

Thanks for your reply.

Nice sunday

Hansje.

Re: Windows 7 VS XP...F1 2010 Codemasters

No if your 7 is 64 bit it will recognize more memory
A 32-bit OS can only read a little less than 4 RAM
I could go dig up the more expanded technical explanation

Nice sunday

Hansje.
That is correct and yes a lot of gamers are on XP for that very reason. I modify Win-7 by shutting off a lot of services or should I say disable them. Go to black vipers web site for details on which services you can disable. http://www.blackviper.com/

Did you happen to enable vsync on the 7 version.. vertical sync tends to cap your FPS (usually to 30 or 60)

Re: Windows 7 VS XP...F1 2010 Codemasters

Thats funny I just visited Black-vipers Website...I did this a lot in the past with Windows 98SE ...thanks for the link anyway.

In F1 2010 you can enable of disable Vsync, and I am using FRAPS to see my FPS...did more tests but XP seems the better game-system.

See you guys
