Same here though I got the office updates a few days ago. It's the regular monthly lineup with "malicious Software Remover" and all that. I always wonder what they might sneak into some of those "updates"

Re: New Updates for Windows;

I had 16 updates tonight......all "important"

On the one hand----am glad MS is on the case and constantly updating and fixing.....

On the other hand----makes you wonder if they had a solid design in the first place....

Seems every month we get a larger number of patches and fixes....

Omg. Windows was once often sneered at and criticized for being buggy, unreliable, performance hogging bloatware... Has it really improved to the extent you imply? While I agree that win2000 was a great leap forward and win7 is mostly stable, I'm sure that the code base would be essentially spaghetti laced with legacy code stuff. Only need to view the registry to determine that.

I happened to update an Xp box just a couple of days ago and was surprised by the updates that were available, including a security patch for IE8.
It's good that they continue to maintain it because it's a great OS for certain purposes and easy to configure.
