X-79 and SoundCore 3D

I got a X-79 Fatal1ty Champion mobo for a new system build.

The on-board sound is Creative's latest Soundcore 3D chip on the board.

The only issue is that I want to run a optical cable in from my CD player, and Optical out to my receiver.

The mobo has no optical ports, so I am thinking of getting the Creative Soundcore 3D PCI-E card which has Optical in and out.

If I install it on the mobo which already has a Soundcore 3D, will this create a conflict between the 2 soundcore chips?

Can I do this?

Yes you can all you have to do is disable the onboard sound in the bios!

Re: X-79 and SoundCore 3D

Thanx for the info, OK turn off the sound in BIOS.

Why is X-FI better then the new Sound Core?

Is X-FI Titanium better than the original X-FI, or they the same?
