Any one use LastPass?

I was wondering if anyone here is using LastPass for the passwords and if they like or not?

LastPass - Password Manager, Form Filler, Password Management

Re: Any one use LastPass?

How do you use these? By opening them and searching for your passwords?

Re: Any one use LastPass?

That's one method, another popular method is a toolbar within the browser which will automatically insert the password. I find myself using the former over the latter.

I take it that you have to use a password to open it up every time you need a password?

You have one master password and LastPass has a password generator that makes a password for you so you can have a different password for whatever site your on and remembers them so you won't have to. They are very strong and you can make them has strong has you like, you can export all your passwords in a simple text file so you have a copy at home, LastPass works on all platforms....I haven't installed it yet still checking it out.

Re: Any one use LastPass?

I tried LastPass, and I think it's a great product. But they need to do a lot of work on usability before I can stop searching for other options.

I'm testing out Dashlane this week. Going well, but no decisions yet.

Re: Any one use LastPass?

Yep. Just as FV said. The main reason I use one is that I am more into the "Cloud" using Dropbox. All my accounts and sensitive files have unique passwords. No dereviatives of one from another. Not only do some of the password utilities generate strong passwords, their whole db file is encrypted as well. You do need to backup the db file.

Icing on the cake is the ability to also install it on your Smartphone. The main reason I went with Ascendo.

I tried Lastpass yesterday, and it takes a leaning curve, and I got a little mixed up (imagine that...LOL ), I'll have to watch more videos to get the hang of it, I know Steve Gibson loves it and he's really a security guru...

Re: Any one use LastPass?

I have no experience with these apps but I could surely use one. I have a 5 page word document full of stuff like that and all I do now is password archive the document with WinRAR. Something that works with the iPad would be even nicer.
