SteamOS

SteamOS is promising STEAM in the living room for 2014. I mean streaming games from PC and console or dedicated hardware running Linux.
Because the OS runs the games natively they're talking about huge performance benefits on today's hardware.

I think that if they get this going they way they say they can then it may mean the next step in gaming.

Personally, i dont care about gaming in the loungeroom. I've always been perfectly happy in the study, but i get it would make it easier for the whole family to participate.

Um, but being able to play Skyrim on a tablet would be great.

Re: SteamOS

Yeah I've read a little bit about this.

I also agree it will be the next evolution in gaming if they're capable of making it work and function correctly in a real-world environment.

I can't wait to see it...

Re: SteamOS

I just thought I'd dust off this thread a little. Valve stated a little while ago that they're now looking at 2015 for SteamOS to go to retail.
