* W-8 upgrade to W-8.1 final *

The Final W-8.1 is out today through Microsoft store...
My W-8 upgrade to W-8.1 went without a hitch...
The upgrade saved all my W-8 apps, so nothing to reinstall...

Windows 8.1 now available: Everything you need to know before you install - Pocket-lint

Skully,

Let us know how you like it.

For me I might never update to this "free" version.

negatives. Sign up for MS Store
Take 10 hours or more for me to download the update each time I wish to re-install windows. Which for me can be once in six months or as many times as 4-5 times a month.

I don't see me doing this unless I pop for the Developers edition, which I think is a couple hundred. Grrrrr.

after some time and playing around a bit I'll post how goes...

Will be looking forward to your posts. Especially for differences between 8 and 8.1

I downloaded and installed it last night. Never lost any apps from Win8. Seems to be ok, alittle early to tell though.

This one I just completed, now my PC is a Local Account free of the cloud...
How to Switch from a Microsoft Account to a Local Account in Windows 8 and 8.1 .... Local Account - Switch to in Windows 8
And closing out MS account... Microsoft Account - Close ...Free, free at last...
