Re: 27" iMac

I know. Point is, it's perception. I believe support will wane for this product. I am counting on Win9 to keep me in the MS ecosystem, if not, time to move on down the road.

Ya got a "short list" for your next PC upgrade?

Yes the 4790K, Z97-WS, get rig of my H100 and go with your cooler and reverse the top fans on my 650 to blowing in and add a filter on top for dust, and turn my back fan to exhaust, oh yeah and for sure the Corsair RGB K70 with blue cherry switches! Here's the filter I'm getting for the top of the case, this will really make a positive airflow case and help keep out the dust that I'm getting now.

Re: 27" iMac

The WS boards are great for multiple displays. You'll like it. Good luck on the fishing. BTW, I am certain of a El Nino this winter!

Excellent choices FVB, you will love the i7-4790K, the WS is a good board but it is only 1 SATA Express available for the Intel chipset but that is as good as the Z97 chipset does for SATA Express.

To save you money, you might want to consider the NH-U9B ES over the NH-U12S because it can be had for around $45 and will do fine for not OCing. Also the NH-U12S will almost touch your video card.

Retina iMac Review: The Screen That Makes Desktops Relevant Again - WSJ - WSJ

Heck, for a few bucks more I can get the computer thrown in with Apple's monitor.

Dell's pricing is correct for their monitor.

Re: 27" iMac

My old eyes can certainly see the difference with the Retina models. It almost floored me when I went to the Apple store.

I want to see some hands-on review of the new iMac first!

Re: 27" iMac

Yeah that's a lot of pixels to move around, going to need a lot of gpu horse power.
