Hibernation is fast, the resume is the problem, it takes painfully long

Hi,

My system used to hibernate and resume very instantaneously.
Now suddenly noticed this problem and its happening regularly for the past 2 months in that the hibernate still always performs as before. But the resume bar which says "windows is resuming" or something like that takes very long. 3-5 mins at times.

Any suggestions as to what might need to be done. I have a lot of spare OS drives sitting around now, but i just wanted to try other options before changing hardware.

Thanks in advance.

Delete the hiber file and reinstall. MS has fixit program for this.

Ms website has both fixit tools to remove and install the file. In power settings you can confirm the presence of hibernation. Strange the file does not show in the root directory of os drive.

Power settings correctly shows hibernation as enabled. Tried disabling and enabling. Everything does what its supposed to except. I cant seem to locate the hiberfil.sys even with a global search when hidden files are enabled to show.

It should be in the root folder along with the page file. Sounds like to me it's being deleted routinely!

Try the tools, they may help.

Only if you have indexing locations setup correctly.

No matter what ive tried. Its still slow. Even if i deactivate & reactivate hibernation. The first time hibernation/restore is fast. But after 2 times of hibernating. The restores alone get dead slow. Entering into hibernate however is still fast as always.
