Re: Fo4

It may have the feel, but once you get deeper into it - it's entirely different. Much more immersive. Bit more scarier at time too. I can ensure you of that.

Re: Fo4

I've dl and installed it, running smooth as silk on my rig, looks to be much more GPU dependant than CPU. I think all settings defaulted to Ultra except 2, i will post about that later.
What resolution do you guys recommend? I'm using just plain 1080P as thats the native res of my monitor, but does it look better in a higher res?

Really? I had assumed it would play like Fo3, but is it different?

Re: Fo4

Actually I am trying to get a refund on FO4, I am not liking the game too much and would rather get something more UT3ish. I did not like the slow movement, the gun site, and some other things. I did not like the perks screen either, I thought it was dumb. I am not a veteran of FO3 and not familiar with Pip Boy at all.

Re: Fo4

Yes it does play like FO3. Graphics have improved and it's much more stable. Have not had a crash in the 14 hrs I have been playing it.

There are more things to craft, better interactions with the factions, and it's a bit harder than FO3. Cheesy storyline, but that has never interest me anyway. You start out slow moving South out of the Vault. As the missions kick in, things get a bit intense. Power Armor is easier to obtain and maintain.

If you played FO3, there is not much of a learning curve. If not, it can be quite challenging.

I particularly like calling in Artillery Support. Took a while to figure out how to build it and support it. It's a sheer joy to use and watch.

The dog (dogmeat) is still around. Only companion I have used so far.

Looking fwd to meeting up with Brother of Steel.

Re: Fo4

I can understand the difficulties of getting immersed into FO4 if your a fan of UT3. Much different style of gameplay. Thought you would like it though, as it will certainly make use of high-end hardware.

Re: Fo4

Sorry for the letdown, I thought after a while I could better use the $55 on a different game, maybe not. I might return to it I'll see. A new DooM is suppose to arrive soon.

Edit: Excuse me, $59.99

Immersive ... Immersive ... Immersive !!!

Very interesting running around on dirt and hills. The sky is beautifully done. So are the water effects.

I' m going to have to figure out a good remapping scheme for a few keys. I'll probably fire up FO3 and NV to see the key map scheme there.
Also I will need to tweak the FOV. It is too tight. I'll try 90 or 100 to get a better wider screen view.

It's still only the beginning of the game for me. There is a long way to go yet.

Re: Fo4

To each, its own. This game can be a bit long and complex. Me, I am just tired of pure Shooters!

Enjoy UT.

Re: Fo4

I forgot all about Nvidia Experience. Got it installed and optimized this game. It's still the same with the exception I went from Windowed Borderless to Full Screen. Cannot see a difference. I'll keep this utility - it's nifty!

Thanks.
