Re: Fo4

Makes a big difference for me, I still think it's at 2565x1440 but streched to fill the screen.

I thought you'd be hanging out for the next Borderlands.

How do we set the fov? It doesnt stick in the console and it feels like its at 75 or something...

Re: Fo4

They actually have an open sourced update to UT coming out soon. It is a remake of all the famous UT'99 maps. I have not heard about a Borderlands update but I would hope it is something different as I bought every pack for that game and I am burnt out.

At our age, need to keep the mind active. Back out of Diamond City and do some Minute Men Quests.

Re: Fo4

I know the game is getting great reviews, but i've only just loaded it up and played until exiting 111 and it looks very much the same as Fo3. The graphics are a little improved but nothing brilliant. Thats to say they're not fantastc cutting edge graphics, more just average. The controls feel like Fo3 too, i.e: not as refined as say a typical good shooter is. A little clunky really.
For those who are already hours ahead, how much is the game improved from Fo3, or is it just at the same level of gooodness?

Re: Fo4

For me - it's harder, more things to do, and more immersive. Other than that, similar to FO3.

Re: Fo4

I've played an hour or so and progressed to lvl 6, lol.
My rig is running on ultra settings, thats a 780, C2D@3.8GHz on X48. fps varies between 45-60 at 1080p and feels smooth. Extraordinary, but I feel my Asus WS X48 board can live a bit longer! I've really had my monies worth from this setup.

Well, FOV out of the box is low, as is typical for a lot of these games.
I've upped it to 90 which gives me a bit more room to breath.
Theres some great tweaks over here for the FOV and mouse settings and others.

Animation is good but Dogmeat is not entirely natural behaviour wise, but still pretty good.

The graphics are good and much improved over Fo3 and the immersion feels stronger. The conversation trees are very well designed too. Easy to avoid the silly responses and have a more realistic conversation.

The US cultural flavor is all over this, of course. Thats by design, but sometimes it just comes across as too cliched from my perspective.
I also would have thought that after 200 years there would be more overgrowth and rust, lol. Giant insects are just too hard too believe, based on my understanding of the biology, but trying not to think too much about those aspects, lol.

So far its enjoyable.

After 72 hours of gameplay, Fallout 4 is still going strong. There are tons of easter eggs and random encounters. The game keeps getting more and more immersive.

Congrats sammy2066 !!! I see you installed Fallout 4 today.

Anyone use the bottle cap exploit?

What level of difficulty are you playing?

Re: Fo4

They are all over. Try Google for locations.

You must store your suit with friendly factions. That's why I suggested make nice with the Minuteman. Then it can be stored in Sanctuary.
