Re: ASUS GTX 1070 Strix

LOL, thanks guys. Going to be keeper for real in my Corsair 760T case and I hope it lasts as long. I should have some pics later tomorrow but don't know when I will get to install it. Maybe late tomorrow evening.

Re: Asus rog rampage v edition 10

Moved the above posts over to the RVE10 thread.

I DL all the new drivers last night. This board has more utilities than the previous RVE. It has all the RAM caching, RAM disk, Mem Tweak, good ole TurboV that has been missing etc. and some new ones I have not looked up yet. Here's a pic of the utility downloads.

Capture.JPG

There is an Aura LED lighting utility for the board as well as a different one for the new STRIX cards. I plan on running both soon. Also, you have seen the RVE10 lit up different colors but you can control each of the 5 areas separately from having each on, off, or running some effect. I could have solid red at the areas I want in whatever shade and intensity I desire.

Beautiful. I like the backplate. No guessing with that one!

Enjoy, it certainly looks like a keeper!

Re: Asus rog rampage v edition 10

Hi Sandog.... Congrats on the board....

Got to go to work so I'll make this short.

Two things struck me from the pictures....

1) I only saw a 24-pin power connector... is there a 4/8 pin somewhere I missed?

2) No heatpipes from the PCH? and the heatsink is flat? (no fins?)

Enjoy, has a ton of nice features

The 8 pin is there but from the pictures its at the top in the middle of the heat-zinc, you can barely see it!

Re: Asus rog rampage v edition 10

Whelp I am all installed and running fine. No problems with the installation, every cable went back exactly were the old one was with two exceptions. I have taken out my ASUS Essence audio card and it used a 1x4pin MOLEX but I didn't have to take that cable out, I used it right down there where my power supply is on the edge. It is suppose to provide additional GPU voltage. Second, the new ASUS front panel audio drive requires 2x3pin PCI power connector so I added that and it requires a USB 2.0 port. Luckily the ROG Connect header works as a USB port so I have my front panel USB 2.0 ports plugged into there and the audio USB cable is plugged into the normal USB 2.0 port. There is a water pump header but I have mine plugged into the CPU header. I believe it is more for secondary DIY pumps but I might try it later.

Lot looks different and much better than on my short lived RVE. First off the LED's look sensational. I can't describe it or show in pictures apparently. I am loving it. Lots of new stuff in BIOS, BIOS looks like it is higher resolution with a satin aluminum backround. Only thing I don't have working is audio but it is enabled and hooked up but I have to load drivers. I really need to do a new install even though a lot is the same. Also I am behind 2 BIOS versions so I will burn shortly.
