Re: DooM 2016

I'm liking it FVB, especially the matches with +20 demons coming at you and they take multi shots. A true shooter game with no thinking, just panic lol. It is getting enjoyable bringing back memories of Mars and the UAC of old. You have to accomplish missions like saving the reactor core and activating systems. Lots of secrets and a cool 3D map. Guns are cool. I would give it a definite thumbs up, it lives up to it's ID/DooM heritage, is fun to play, and modern. For $18 it is a bargain.

Re: DooM 2016

I am really happy with the video card, finally giving it what its designed for and its eating it up like candy. Using less than 300W on the desktop and that is with being in TPU2 mode (16% OC, 4.2GHz core #2 and 4.0GHz all the rest).

Re: DooM 2016

Yeah, I had a blast playing today on and off. Really enjoying DooM and football today.

I set my video card fan down 5C to start at 45C. I don't even notice it during the game but the fans are running. I sit around 52Cmax in the game now.

Re: DooM 2016

Eh, liked Doom3 better and Wolfenstein New Order (except the end - guy doesn't get the girl?!). Bit choppy on a GTX 680 w/2GB.

The graphics must be better on DooM 16 than DooM 3. Did you play in the demo? I wanted to get around to WNO but never did, I thought it was online only or something. I always liked the Wolf3D franchise better than DooM.

Re: DooM 2016

This game kicks ***. I just finished the tower which was a good puzzle and just got to blow apart a Cacodemon (giant pac-man floater). Here is a lost-soul blown to bits.

This video card rocks btw. A few posts back I had a pic with my FPS which is always stuck at 67 which is the max my monitor can do. I would like to get a 144Hz monitor someday and see what this card does. I am on Ultra setting as well.

Yes, I downloaded the demo and tried it. Graphics on Doom 2016 are definitely more intense than Doom 3 (and WNO). There is allot more story to WNO than the older releases from the series.

Re: DooM 2016

I have 16 hours logged according to Steam and still have like 78% achievement's left plus I have been racing through and only discovered around 1/3 the secrets. I already got my monies worth out of the game and an still going. Might even get the DLC's later. There are also side games to play that are timed. Very cool missions that get you absorbed in the game and graphics are cool. DooM gets high review marks on Steam. I might hit NWO after this.

Re: DooM 2016

Just had a game freeze playing DooM.

Capture.JPG

It's the one below Critical (Steam Client maybe). The Crit was from me hitting the reset because of the freeze. I went to TPU1 in BIOS and went back to 2T command rate in memory. I think it may be Intels Turbo Boost as well.
