Re: why am i having trouble getting on website?

Well I for one would like an explanation of what happened to ABXZone. Is it a forum hacker or DNS attack? Or is it just a hardware malfunction such as a hard drive. If it is a hardware malfunction that is hard to swallow since we are a hardware site. I would buy a 3TB drive and ship it to the lamo dude that can't take care of a simple server. If it is a leased server then the server owners need to fix it. If it is a messed up install, then reinstall VBulletin and copy over all the backup files you were suppose to save. I could have used Windows backup and restore to keep a daily backup of the hard drive or at least auto-ran SyncToy to backup the forum.

I would be glad to donate some money to help fix the site!

Re: why am i having trouble getting on website?

The tough thing about the possible loss of ABX. Its a place where a lot of old time members still drop by. Plus all the history, lots of guys got their start here, and moved on to start other hardware sites, or went to work for other hardware sites. There is a ton of history here. ABX is real part of me. As Ski said, no where else feels right except Here @ ABX. I grew into an old man here, as others have also. I just hope it all gets worked out, for all of us here @ ABX...

I'll keep you posted on further updates as they come in.
Hi everyone!
I'm patiently watching daily for a resolution. I miss my home page.

Hey Zap, Al,
Issues persist.
Any news on the restore progress?

All come into this life with *** stardust *** a special love. They can give to others,
and leave in their wake as they move through this life. The Father of lights the creator of all,
created His children out of stardust, with a touch of love added to the stardust.
So that we could all have stardust to give, and to share as needed. *** Love *** y'all...

The only insight I can provide is to note that intermittencies, erratic performance, and other anomalies continue to plague the forums at Yuku.com (which as I had indicated is part of Crowdgather.com, as is abxzone).

[UPDATED 01/04/17 at 4:25 AM EST] Switching to our new servers in Yuku Announcements Forum

And as things stand now I'd rather not bother our Crowdgather administrator, ChrisW, with status questions. She's had her hands way more than full dealing with the Yuku issues, as you can see in the referenced thread, and I doubt that anyone can provide a reliable projection at this point.

In any event, I'll add to the stardust offerings that have been provided in this thread:

As I mentioned earlier I'm informed that there has been an incident involving catastrophic server failure and work is underway to resolve it.

Unfortunately I dont have more info at this time, but obviously its taking a while to get resolved and I'd ask everyone to be patient while that happens. I for one am grateful that we are still able to at least post, even though full functionality is not yet restored and performance is poor. I've asked for an update and will post as soon as additional info is available.

Just bookmark forums and then go to QuickLinks/Today's Posts to post. Fastest way to communicate for me. After submitting a post wait 10-15sec and hit submit again to move it along.

Re: why am i having trouble getting on website?

Also, if you do not see the reply button at the bottom choose 'Reply With Quote' and when the post window opens just delete the quote and post as normal.

I got a reply back from CrowdGather (CG). Said the guy is still waiting on the part. I stated we would pitch in for repair costs to get the website up as soon as possible. Then I asked what part is he needing.
