BIOS change from RAID sata mode to AHCI mode -Gives BSOD

Hi,

I had my workstation configured to RAID0 and was using it for a few months that way. But recently had problems of the entire drive disappearing and files going missing and then coming back after a reboot etc. So i removed the raid drives formatted them and am now using them in a non raid config.

I was told during installation to use RAID mode in the BIOS for RAID to be enabled. It did. But now when i try to switch back to AHCI mode (since im not using the RAID setup anymore) it gives me a Win Loading logo and then immediately a BSOD. Entering BIOS and changing the SATA mode back to RAID makes everything ok and now the system boots correctly. Tried this a couple of times and confirmed. Now how do i switch back to AHCI mode because ive read that when not using RAID its best to work under AHCI mode.

I cant seem to work in AHCI and now every boot the raid controller menu appears with the usual CTRL + I option and all the drives listed but with no drives listed as raid member.

Thanks

You have to go into the RAID bios and delete the RAID setup.
Then into your OS BIOS and set it to AHCI mode. Then you can
install windows on either drive ...

Re: BIOS change from RAID sata mode to AHCI mode -Gives BSOD

You've already ruined your RAID-O setup...
AHCI mode is only used for a single drive.
Your only option is to delete the RAID setup in the RAID bios.
Then if you want RAID-O again you have to build a new RAID-O
in the RAID bios, then reinstall Windows. Or reformat each drive,
and use them as single drives...
