* Asus ROG RAMPAGE VI APEX * incoming...

Tomorrow, tomorrow, is RVI APEX day...
Coming in from Amazon, 2 day delivery...
I got tired of waiting on MC, knowing they may never
get it in, or I'll be an ole man when they do... ...
Paid a little more for it/RVI APEX then if i'd of got it @ Newegg.
Getting it a wee sooner is worth it to me. Got to go to MC today
trade back the Gigabyte mobo, for a couple Samsung M.2 512gig
sticks, I'll be ready to RAID-O the RVI APEX mobo. I like to oc,
benchmark/ water cool. The APEX looks like the ideal mobo for me...

By the by here's another thread of good info on the RVI APEX mobo...

Thanks bud, being an oc'er and into water cooling, plus the quality
of ASUS. The VRM has a really great heatsink, M.2 with 2x RAID-0
direct to the CPU. Most likely the best VRM heatsink out there. Also ordered
two heat sinks from EK, M.2 NVMe Heatsink - Nickel, for the Samsang 960 PRO drives... This should be a fun setup...

Re: * Asus ROG RAMPAGE VI APEX * incoming...

Congrats Skully, I hope you like the APEX. I like the no frills look to it. It has a few small led logo's but nothing crazy. Reminds me of the olden ROG Extremes where everything was black and red and no funky LED's. You can turn individual LED's off BTW.

There should be an APEX version arriving for Z370 which will be interesting. I don't want one of those Maximus boards with all the water blocks and what not.

Check out the board I'm looking at, Maximus Code. The 370 code is number one on my list!

ROG MAXIMUS IX CODE | Motherboards | ASUS USA

Here's a review showing the difference between the Formula and the Code. Less lights, no water cooling and no backplate on the Code but everything else is the same....The Code is $259 the Formula is $388....

Re: * Asus ROG RAMPAGE VI APEX * incoming...

Ok buds, I have most everything installed on the APEX. AURA doesn't work.
The good thing is, my fan led's are adjustable, to most any color, and so is my
STRIX 1080 ti. I match the colors of fans and the 1080 ti. It really looks
great very low key lighting, nice for a change. Now everything set to a soft
lavender, it reflect of all the metal parts on the APEX. Works well for me.
AURA apps are junk ware, ASUS makes all the nice lighting then gives you
junk ware to run it. I've read it AURA can cause problems in the OS. The
heat sink is a work of art, the best in looks, and function of any mobo out there.
The VRM heat sink, with a heat pipe, that leads to another big heatsink.
That covers the I/O plate. My oc is a mild 4.6gig for now. Core voltage is
default @ .968V Yep this is one very well made mobo all quality parts.
Today is for setting up RAID-O I'm anxious to get it set, and benchmark it
with Crystal benchmark. As the will be straight to the CPU instead of the
chip set. Well to say the least, I'm a very happy camper with the APEX...

Addendum, PCH chip heatsink stays cool, only got a wee warm to the touch, when
cpu is stressed, and I mean ya can put your finger on it, and hold it there forever...
