I just went to CC and asked if the rebate was good for more than one and they said yes. So I purchased the remaining 4 drives. I'm going to use them for my 4 disk RAID5 configuration. Then I'm going to take the 4 80GB drives I have and use two each in my two Canterwoods as RAID0. That will give me a .75TB file server and my Canterwoods will have 480GB each.

Okay i think i may have done something wrong...

I updated by BIOS to 1014, but the method i used was the Alt+F2 method.

I just found out that this is the EZ Flash update. Am I correct on this?

If so, what should I do? Everything seems to be working fine, but it kinda bothers me if I did it the wrong way

I would like to use AUDFOS but i'm not sure how

When i put the AUDFOS file and the bios file on a floppy and i reboot my computer, it doesn't boot.

do i have to make it a boot disk? i don't know how? I just format it (i'm guessing its wrong)

Nefarious, you do need to create a boot disk and with Windows XP it has gotten even easier to make one.

See the attached image to see what you have to check off on the Format window that you get to by right-click on the A drive and selecting Format.

p4p800 boots to xp splash screen then reboots ...

Everything worked fine all day - cpu was overclocked to 3.35, vid card was overclocked to 498/346 - all the trouble started when I ran that bios update program from the asus CD inside of xp.

My problems all started when I ran the update bios program off of the asus CD. the system then wouldn't get past the win xp splash screen, it would just go blank and not respond.

So I flashed the bios w/ 1012 and 1011 and even tried 1004 and a couple others. I even cranked down the fsb to 175 but nothing worked.

Tried resetting the CMOS (taking out battery, resetting jumpers), Swapped out the video card, same problem.

The next logical step is to swap out the memory and then the board itself. I just want to know what the hell I did to kill my brand new system.

more info. system:
