Ya, but some of them can only be had if you contact Microsoft directly.

I just went with whatever is at the corporate site.

I am putting all the hotfixes in chronologically, this way, hopefully, things will be replaced in the proper order.

I think I will implement that qchain.exe though. Just to be on the safe side, that may be why somethings don't work right when installed all at once in that all-in-one package that Paragon linked to earlier, I think it was Paragon.

I noticed they switched from using / to using a - when talking about qchain.exe.

You need to use qchain where the hotfix requires a reboot before other hotfixes are installed. So you could actually wind up with old files in place of newer ones if not used.

Ok, that makes sense, but, now for the million dollar question, how do I know which ones require a reboot, without running ever damned one of them?

BTW, where abouts did you read this? The reason I ask is because in the available documentation on qchain.exe I have right now I haven't been able to find this tidbit of information. At least not on the MS KB.

The way the MS KB writes it up, the one that francopoli linked to, it sounds like you just run all the hotfixes and then run qchain.exe to square things up.

I went through the updates I had and found the following to have potential for issues. So I put in a line to run qchain after each one. I suppose I could take it a step further and find out if they all need reboots or not. Maybe later.

Q810565
Q810243
Q329262
Q329048
Q327979
Q327405

For those who own a Hercules sound card and require drivers that aren't packaged as they are normally found on the Hercules website, and will not stop and insist that you disconnect the Internet connection, you can find a copy of them here:

http://ftp.hercules.com/sound/exe/Cr...ds/CSC_609.zip

Hercules tech support was kind enough to point me in the right direction.

They will cover the:

Fortissimo II
Fortissimo III
Game Theater XP 7.1
DigiFire 7.1
