P4C800-E Deluxe - Promise RAID NO Show

ANY help at all appreciated.....
problem: ONLY after I reset BIOS (v1016) do I see the Promise "detecting IDS...."
-I set up stripe array with 2 IBM Deskstar 160 Gb SATA drives OK,
then reboot.
-Upon reboot, no detecting msg. and NO hard drives in BIOS setup.
-naturally, windoze XP install fails as well.....

??? anybody....any ideas??

i have tried connecting the drives individually to the Intel SATA ports and all is OK.
also tried connecting to Intel SATA as RAID-0 and was OK.

If all else fails remember this, read the instructions first. Then do a search here and you will find this same question asked and answered about 1000 times. But, here it is - you need to load the drivers during the Windows install for the SATA controller by creating a floppy disk according to the instructions and using the driver CD that came with your board. Then when windows gets to the initial start of loading drivers you push F6 when asked if you need to load SCSI or orther drivers. It is all in Chapter 5 of your motherboard manual, and in the thread here:

Edit: And use the Intel Controller, not the Promise for your boot Raid - it's a faster controller because it is on a different data bus. That's SATA1 and SATA2 on your motherboard.
