Question Memory capacity on CUSL2 (no audio)

I know this should be in the Memory section but I guess more people access this forum! :-)

I have a CUSL2 mobo with NO AUDIO... I had a 256MB PC133 stick on the mobo and today I bought (2) 256MB PC133 sticks for it, so I could bring the RAM up to 768.... BUT!!! The manual says it only accepts up to 512MB!!!!! Is there a way around this or do I have to go back to my Tyan Trinity 400 mobo so I can use all the memory I have now??

Thanks in advance!

I have Bios 1008 flashed..

512MB only. i815 chipset limitation.

Not sure about WinME, but any lesser Win OS wouldn't be able to use the extra mem anyway (512 cap).

Yup, 512MB is the limit for any Intel 815 based mainboard.

As for Win9x not being able to handle more than 512MB, that's not entirely true: there is a bug in Win9x (and Me, BTW) that prevents Windows from using more than 512MB of memory correctly. You can solve the problem by limiting the amount of memory Vcache uses. See this MS KB article for more info.
