Thanks very much for this important info, Wonderwrench. In my case, though, yesterday I updated four XP Home SP3 computers with this update and all of the others, and fortunately I've had no problems.

Microsoft has removed the patches in question from the updates.

Thanks for the information, I don't have auto update activated but my antivirus program tells me when Windows update have something important, but this time I didn't update right away and waited some days, which was fortunate this time.

Sorry I picked this old post. However, For XPSP3 todays updates are on the numbers. 9 in total, and all is well.:tiphat::whistler:
